ATLANTICLAM Project: Pioneering Sustainable Clam Farming from Farm to Fork

Oceano Fresco, Escola Superior de Biotecnologia da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Nofima, and the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory extend their gratitude to all participants of the "ATLANTICLAM - Public Session" and the concluding worksession. This event was recently hosted at the Mercedes EQ Lounge in Nazaré on April 15th, highlighting significant advancements in sustainable clam aquaculture.

The ATLANTICLAM project is dedicated to advancing the journey of Euro-native clam species from farm to fork. It emphasizes an integrated approach that is both consumer-oriented and distinct, promoting the consumption of sustainable, healthy, and flavorful seafood. This initiative not only addresses climate change but also aims to create a new revenue stream within the blue economy.

The project receives support from the Blue Growth Program of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) for the period 2014-2021. EEA Grants Portugal aims to mitigate social and economic disparities in Europe while fostering stronger bilateral relations between Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and the recipient nations.
